TGI shares this philosophy and has worked diligently to incorporate this vision with the construction of their two new concessions.

 JERSEY MIKE’S OPENS IN HISTORIC PHILADELPHIA AMTRAK STATION

PHILADELPHIA, November 28, 2012 – In time for the year’s busiest travel season, Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, has opened in downtown Philadelphia in historic Amtrak’s 30th Street Station at 2955 Market St.  Officially opened on Tuesday, November 19, the new fast-casual sub shop is operated by The Grove Inc. and located in the Main Hall.  In the next several months, The Grove plans to open two other Jersey Mike’s locations at Newark International Airport (Terminal A) and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas (Concourse C).

“On Our Way To The Top”

Westchester, Illinois (October 9, 2012) The Grove, Inc. (TGI) held its annual manager’s conference this year in Cancun, Mexico. The theme of this conference was, “On Our Way To The Top.” Events included an entertaining opening cocktail party, informative meeting sessions, team-building activities, and the always-anticipated awards ceremony.

Each year, TGI gathers with all of the company’s management team and senior staff members to celebrate the year’s successes and discuss challenges and opportunities that will help the company grow and succeed. This year, the event was no different. TGI’s senior staff, managers and supervisors from across the country made their way to Cancun, Mexico for a little learning and a lot of fun.

Westchester, Illinois (August 10, 2012) TGI donates through its Grove Giving Program on Thursday, August 2^nd, 2012 by volunteering and donating products to The Periwinkle Foundation’s annual Camp Periwinkle event. TGI’s team members from Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) spent the day with the children participating in the camps, “Spa Day” event.

Camp Periwinkle, located in Burton, Texas, is a week of pure fun with traditional camp activities for children who are challenged with cancer and other life threatening illnesses who are cared for at Texas Children’s Hospital. This year the camp enabled 184 campers the chance to connect with others within their own peer group who may be facing similar challenges. Camp Periwinkle continues to bring smiles, laughter and joy to patients, who are getting treatment for cancer and blood disorders at Texas Children’s Hospital, and their siblings the opportunity to experience camp fist hand.

Without their generosity, our life-altering Periwinkle Programs would not be possible. The Grove Giving Program was developed so that TGI could give back to the cities and communities in which TGI operates. The Grove Giving’s first volunteer effort in Houston, Texas was with The Periwinkle Foundation. TGI’s IAH team spent their time at “Spa Day” with the young girl camp attendees. Team members pampered the girls with manicures, pedicures and hairstyles in order to get them ready for their big evening dance event. TGI was also able to donate 55 cases of water to the campsite along with Grove Snack bags.

“It was a memorable experience, and very rewarding to be able to volunteer and see the young ladies with smiles while being pampered.” states TGI’s Supervisor at IAH, Cyndy Casillas.

TGI’s Area Manager Rocio Cardenas added, “I had a lot of fun with the young girls… Being able to do something so simple [for the children], but it meant so much for us to be able to participate.”

The Periwinkle Foundation develops and provides programs that positively change the lives of children, young adults, and families who are challenged by cancer and other life threatening illnesses and are cared for at Texas Children’s Hospital. As the survival rate grows, so does the need for long-term support and programs.  What started as a simple camp for children with cancer uncovered a need for camps for teenagers, families and long-term survivors, as well as a robust Arts and Creative Writing Program.
